Created for a joint exhibition, ‘Being Here’, exploring different perspectives on identity and the human experience. Portraiture is used as a tool to enquire into the self, drawing from the stories we tell ourselves to create masks which we present to the world.

Observational drawings of surfers, in awe of the body and all that it can do.

Looking at the the surge in popularity of cold-water swimming. Interested in the space around the body, that moment where skin meets water, the initial barrier where the pain lies, followed by the joy.

Interested in the link between movement and mental health. Observational drawings exploring this further.

Inspired by David Attenborough’s ‘A Life on Our Planet’ - aiming to be a part of nature, rather than apart from nature.
