Join us for an afternoon of relaxed, untutored life drawing in the heart of the Royal Arcade.
We'll be drawing from a clothed model in the public space, with a series of timed poses designed to help you loosen up, observe and enjoy the process. Each pose will hint at a character or moment, inviting you to draw not just the figure, but the story behind it.
We will start with very quick timed warm-ups. For each warm-up you will be given a different drawing prompt to encourage you to try new ways of drawing. You will then be invited to explore these prompts further for the rest of the session. Come along and enjoy the time to draw alongside other creative people in a welcoming, friendly atmosphere.
Whether you're a regular sketchbook keeper or simply fancy trying something new, everyone is welcome.
Basic materials provided. You are welcome to bring your own if you have any favourite materials. (No paint please, so we can keep the beautiful arcade mess-free!)
Before we begin, Otium Coffee will be open if you'd like to grab a hot drink - included in your ticket price. (They'll be closing at 2pm so Shannon can join us for the drawing too!)
Things to note:
• This is not a private setting (in the middle of the Royal Arcade)
• Stools are provided (no tables). You are welcome to bring your own chair if you prefer something with a back.
We can't wait to draw with you!
